            Thank You!:  Pres. Murry recognized PP Dan B., PP Dave E., PP Bob S. and PDG Jack M. for the incredible support that they provided during his year as Club president.  “They were always there for me,” Pres. Murry remarked. 

            Pres. Murry’s thanks also went to Connie N. for organizing the social (circle one) hour/week/year at her home. It is rumored that Connie can’t say (underline one) “know,” “no,” “maybe” which may explain why she will be our next sergeant-at-arms.  Treasurer Donna L. was recognized for her fiduciary abilities.  Explain “fiduciary” in fewer than 6 words without using the word “crook” or “banker.”  Julianne D. and Marian A. were given kudos for arranging an outstanding speakers program during Pres. Murry’s term.  Pres. Murry presented a Paul Harris Fellow Award to each of these four Rotarians.

            Awards and accolades went to PP Dan O. for all his help, especially with the scholarship fund and IPP David B. and Pres-elect David S. for their help during Pres. Murry’s tour as club president.  Quick:  Why do 3rd graders giggle when they hear IPP? _______  Secretary David S. and Treasurer Donna L. were wildly applauded for their superlative work over the last year.  PP Dave E. . and PP Bob S. were recognized for (Match the members with their characteristics) ___ phenomenal abilities to raise money (hint: It’s  an oilman) ___  providing knowledge and advice on Rotary and Club matters based on years of experience (hint: It’s the printer).  And we can’t forget Jim S, whose involvement in Rotary is deep and wide. 

            Connecting the Dots:  Seven of those Rotarians have something in common.  What word rhymes with their connection?  Torrid, Scored, Bored

            Retrospective:  Pres. Murry feels that he can see the fruits of the year’s labors.  The club is more socially connected, including events that link Lexington, Concord, and Bedford.  Many visiting Rotarians and guests have been graciously welcomed during the last year.  The Seniors’ Cookouts and the High School Scholarships are particularly meaningful, as is the end of polio worldwide is close.  Pres. Murry was pleased with the 100% Paul Harris Sustaining Program. 

            A host of successful fundraising events gave the club the funds to do a lot of good.  Read the following list.  Then close your eyes and recite as many as you can.  Patriots Day, Comedy Night, Fines, Happy Dollars, Cash Raffle.

            “Everyone pitched in.  The Club’s success came through the effort of its members.  I will take many good memories with me,” said Pres. Murry.  Finally, he thanked his wife, Pam, for all her help and support.

            Finally, Murry passed the club’s (circle one) gravel/navel/gavel to incoming Pres. David S., who returned the favor by presenting Murry with a (circle one) gravel/navel/gavel on a board, as recognition of his year as our Club’s president.

             Pres. David began by saying, “I am the luckiest man of the planet, surrounded by family and friends.”  He became a Rotarian to make a positive difference in some small way and now Rotary is an important part of his life.  Pres. David asked two quiz questions:  Who came up with the 4-Way Test?  (Circle one) Herbert Taylor/Livington Taylor.  Women were admitted to Rotary in what year?  (Circle one) 1989/1889/1789.  He is planning ways to promote Lexington Rotary with (Underline one): A root beer float/A Patriots Day float.  He welcomes new ideas.

            Pres. David closed with a few remarks about the importance of tolerance, and how Rotary promotes tolerance throughout the world.  Welcome aboard, Pres. David and your new Board of Directors!  We are with you!
