On a bright, sunny and mild February afternoon,..February?, oh well, don't knock it, 23 Lexington Rotarians and 2 guests attended this weeks meeting at Waxy's. The fare was ziti with meatballs in marinara sauce with a side of Caesar salad, cold cuts, assorted breads and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Filling in for vacationing President Murry was 1st VP Jim S, his maiden voyage at the podium. Looking dapper in a new blue suit that Laurie obviously picked out for him, 1st VP Jim did an excellent job, ponying up $30 Happy Dollars/Fines for anything gaffs/good things that may arise. Jim's lovely wife Laurie was also in attendance to act as club photographer for the day. Good job Jim.
The Pledge was led by PP David B, 1st verse of America, (not one verse) by Charlie V and the Invocation by PP Don S.

PP Dan B gave Twenty Happy Dollars because when our Pro teams go deep into the playoffs, people party, YESSS!!

He has a reputation for building and leading strong, multidisciplinary teams and has particular expertise in guiding the development and commercialization of new technologies. His leadership and industry knowledge have led to numerous international speaking and panel presentations at investment, industry, and scientific conferences.

 Prior to joining BioScale in early 2009, Chip acted as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Helicos BioSciences where he was responsible for establishing and managing the commercial organization. Chip also served as Vice President of the $110M Global Pharmaceutical Business Unit of Affymetrix while concurrently managing the company’s FDA-regulated research and diagnostic instrument development and manufacturing facility in Bedford, MA. At Affymetrix, he also served as Vice President of the Core Technologies Group and Vice President of Corporate Marketing for the Systems Business Unit. Chip held several executive roles during his 12 years at Zymark Corporation including Director of the Pharmaceutical Development and Quality Control Business Unit, where he helped build a global $25M business. Chip holds a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
