Colonel Michael A. Vogel Speaks to Rotary

On a sunny Monday afternoon at Waxy O’Connor’s in Lexington there were nineteen Rotarians, one visiting Rotarian, and two guests; all present for the luncheon fair of pasta, salad, sandwich fixing and cookies.

Raffle gifts this week were donated by: Walpole Community Bank, LPL Financial, Patriot Community Bank, and let us not forget the flying monkey donated by PP Bill C.

There were quite a few happy dollars from Past President Doug H., Past President Dan B., Past President Dan O., Andrew B., President Domenic, and also a fine for President Domenic.

After a noted thank you from the Lexington Food Pantry, we were honored to welcome Colonel Michael A. Vogel 66th Air Base Group Commander at Hanscom Field as our guest speaker for the day. The Commander spoke of his background, and the role of Hanscom AFB. While expressing the importance, and pride of what is done at an acquisition base. The Commander was also able to elaborate on great partnerships with the many organizations and universities across the Commonwealth. From assisting with improving base security, the quality of personnel and university partnerships, to the relationships with surrounding communities have all made Hansom not only a great place to be, but also a great asset in assisting in every bit of the war.

The meeting was brought to a close with Julie Donato being sworn in.
