Classification Talk by Terry Wilkins:
Terry grew up very happy in Ohio, the youngest of three kids.  While she was obsessed by the TV show Star Trek, she started working at 13, doing paper route, babysitting.  After two years at the University of Cincinnati, she transferred to Tuskegee University, where she enrolled in Air Force ROTC, following the tradition of the Tuskegee Airmen.

At 23, 2nd Lt. Terry went to Tucson AZ were she had an office and 25 people working for her.  She learned a lot from others in the service and community.  After an experience being a Big Sister, Terry was asked to be on the Big Brother/Big Sister’s board of directors.  She was involved in many “service above self” activities.  Terry recalled an assignment in Italy, where the food was great and the Italian men fresh (Or was the food fresh and the men great?  My notes are muddled here.)  She had the opportunity of being “declared dead” during war games.  She served in Battle Creek MI.  (Home of what cereal company? __________________ )

Everywhere she went, Terry became involved in community service, including painting houses for those in need.  On a tour of duty in Los Angeles, she met her future husband, and they were married before they met each other’s families.  Married almost 25 years, they have a 15-year old son.  Terry had many interesting jobs during her Air Force career, including a Star Trekkian assignment to the Delta IV Rocket Program.  After retiring from the service, Terry worked for Raytheon for more than a dozen years and is now a real estate agent.  She earned her real estate license in March and sold her first house in June.

That experience showcased how Terry interfaces with the world-at-large:  She helped her client find a home that made both economic and personal sense to that client’ situation, interests, and family.  Live long and prosper!

Closing:  President Susan rang the bell.  Write two words that rhyme with bell, remembering that I teach third graders.  _____________            ______________
