Rotary Club of Lexington Has Annual Meeting at Minuteman High School.

On a beautiful 75 Degree fall day, 20 Lexington Rotarians, one Visiting Rotarian, one Guest and our Speakers enjoyed lunch at Minuteman.  The food was fantastic.

Terri led the Pledge; the first verse of America was by PP Dom S., and the invocation by PP Don S.

Happy dollars/Fines: PP John O. started off by trying to plead his case for having to miss the meeting at Beautiful and Property Tax Exempt, Brookhaven, due to having to play golf with 3 other Rotarians.  The solo vote (his) in favor of forgiveness did not carry the day.  Alan A. gave happy dollars having experienced his child on meds for a wisdom tooth, brought back memories.  PP Bob S. paid happy dollars so he wouldn’t be accused of robbing the church in his neighborhood.  Steve K. paid happy dollars for golfing with PP John O. and other Rotarians.

Announcements:  President Susan C. made some announcements.  November 5th Veteran’s Day Breakfast at St. Brigid’s.  November 5th is the social evening at SA Don M.’s house, watch the sprinklers.  November 6th is a Stop Hunger Now event at 2pm at Pilgrim Congregational, 55 Coolidge Ave.

Raffle Donations were from P Susan C., Connie N., and Walpole Cooperative

We had the privilege and pleasure to have a presentation by the students at Minuteman on the Girls in Stem Program.  Three of the students provided us with a PowerPoint presentation on the Stem Program.  The club has won numerous state and national awards and has been mentioned on “Making the Grade”.  They work on encouraging girls to get into the STEM curriculum and they mentor younger students.  They hope to expand their club and get more girls involved.  They would like to meet woman who are in these careers.

50/50 was won by Terry W.

Next meeting October 24th.

Respectfully submitted PP Jim F.
