Liz Kinchen has been with El Hogar Ministries, Inc. since 2001.

She was also the Director of Lay Ministry for the Parish of the Epiphany in Winchester, Ma. from 2001 to 2014.

 

 

 

 

 
On a sunny November day, 17 Lexington Rotarians, our favorite Visiting Rotarian and 2 Guests enjoyed lunch. 
 
PP Doug H. led the Pledge; the first verse of America was by Charlie V., and the invocation by PP Don S..
 
Happy dollars were paid by: PP Jim F. gave happy dollars for his winning one of the Grand Prizes.  Treasurer Donna gave happy dollars for her son getting his driver’s permit (good luck).  P Dom S. paid happy dollars for all of the events held last week and also was fined for so many good events last week, no good deed goes unpunished.
 
Both Charlie and the club received Certificates from the VA.  P Dom S. thanked the Cash Raffle Committee for their fund raising efforts.  December 5th 10-noon is the Sand For Seniors at Brookhaven.  P Dom S. is attending a meeting on “Rotary Means Business” in Woburn on November 30th from 6-8pm.  The club received thank you notes from the Sacco Family and Friends For Ever. 
 
Raffle Donations were from the Lexington Rotary Club, Brookhaven, Eagle Bank, Arlex Oil, Peoples United, and Busa Wine and Spirits.
 
The Speaker was Liz Kinchen, from El Hogar.  El Hogar started in 1979 and works to transform the lives of poor and abandoned children in Honduras.  They serve 250 children over 4 campuses.  Their central mission is to break the cycle of poverty.  Their funding is mostly from the US and Canada.  They explained about service trips for Rotarians to Honduras.  Their website is www.elhogar.org.
