Bill Singer Sales and Leadership Coach and Trainer Speaks to Rotary.

Our meeting began on the first snowy day of the Winter of 2017. It was a bit cold, but sunny, and driving was not bad.

President Susan opened the meeting on time, and we proceeded through a report of 18 members present, and one guest- the speaker.

We had a few fines, and Frank S reported on the annual delivery of salt buckets to Lexington seniors. Frank took the time to pin  an address label  on a map showing each of the 51 homes we were to deliver to. It was easy to pick a neighborhood to go to. With 11 drivers, all buckets were quickly  loaded into cars or  trucks  and dispatched.  Connie N brought her son along, waking him up before his normal  Sat Am wake up  time. Extra buckets were delivered to the Community Center in case additional requests came in later. I estimate it took about an hour to complete all deliveries. Frank knows how to organize this event from past experience. Thanks Frank, and to Jim F of Brookhaven for  handling the bucket filling  logistics,  and getting the buckets ready and stored for our pickup.

Important Upcoming Meetings:
On the  December 12  meeting  the slate of officer nominations will be announced and voted on. All members are encouraged to attend so that we have a good vote.
December 19 we will hold our annual holiday party. Alan A has arranged for the LHS Madrigal Singers to be our entertainment, and there is a rumor that Santa will be at the meeting. Bring your family and friends for a fun meeting, when we celebrate the holidays. Santa will be passing the hat, collecting for Pres. Susan's designated charitable giving. Be sure to bring a check or lots of cash to donate to her chosen charity(s).

Our economy and the atmosphere at a company should  avoid mass distraction, and focus on the tasks at hand. He explained how we are constantly bombarded by distracting events, and multi tasking leads to a loss of focus. He explained our challenges of focusing time & energy on sales activities, and how to avoid unproductive habits or behaviors.  He even talked about not seeing the obvious? This was a very interesting subject for  members of the Rotary Club of Lexington. Did you notice that there is a question mark in the above paragraph that should be a period?

The 50/50 raffle was won by Murry A, who donated his price back to the club.
