Lexington Police Receive Much Needed Equipment

A short and focused meeting of the Rotary usuals- the workers, the contributors and the energetic was held on the last Monday in 2014 at Waxy’s to feed on friendship and good food.
Members, guests and visiting Rotarians totaling 27 and put a fairly good dent in the buffet.

The presence of President Dave’s daughter Charlotte brought an air of sophistication to a usually raucous table. (Or maybe it was Chief Mark Corr’s side arm.)

Fines seemed to be unusually generous and numerous today. They included everything from a partially sold house to the sales of snow blowers to the secret of greener Wagon Wheel Christmas trees.

Our Rotarian guest Tom Hankert from the East Boston/Reevah Club gave some words of thanks and encouragement to the Polar Plunge participants and donors. Apparently it would not take too much to put Lexington over the top of the donation list if just a few more people made cash or on-line donations. See the Club web-site for details. www.rotarycluboflexington.org

The program today was a presentation to the Lexington Police Department of some specialized equipment to aid them in their crime scene investigations and other work. This donation continues the (usual) generous gifting made possible, along with many others over the years, by our Charitable Trust Fund. Chief Mark Corr and Captain Joe O’Leary spoke briefly about the value of this equipment to the department as well as the availability of their newly formed Community Resource Officer.

PDG Jack won the 50/50 and as usual he donated it back to the club.
