Just to warn everyone, I am nowhere near as creative or verbose as PP Bill C. If you are looking for something witty or original go back and read Bill’s entries for the past few weeks. On a sunny Monday, 29 Rotarians, one visitor met at the Waxy O’Connor’s with President Jim S presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was led, but by whom I have no idea, one verse of America was led by Charlie V., PP Don S provided the Invocation.

Happy dollars and fines started out with another discussion on when the welcome song would be sung. PP Ed G was happy for another chance to turn 50, VP Domenic paid 32 happy dollars for his 32 years of wedded bliss, and I, PP Spencer, paid for my trip to Storyland. Pres. Jim S fined a bunch of PPs (Dan B, John O and Dave E) for their harsh criticism of his bright pink shirt. I was surprised it passed. Speaking of PP Dan B, he paid for his spam email that went out from his Gmail account. The biggest surprise fine was for the Lexington Historical Society and their representative Charlie for the Lexington T-shirts sold at Walgreen’s with a Concord image on the front.

Raffle gifts were donated by lots of great companies that P Jim said way too fast for me to write down. It is safe to assume it was a bunch of banks.

We got two thank you letters this week. The first from Lexington Historical Society for our donation to help in the restoration of Buckman’s Tavern and Marcy Lucas thanking the club for last week’s scholarship presentation.

ImageOur speaker was 2nd VP Susan C.  She was born in upstate NY but quickly moved to Lexington and made it her home. She went to Lexington High School and then Framingham State collage. Married to Joe and has two daughters. Susan works at People’s United Bank, a New England based bank, headquartered in Connecticut. In her free time she studies her genealogy.

Julie P won the 50/50.
