Lexington Spoke Bulletin for the regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Lexington on March 3, 2014.

Today’s weather was still very cold and a bit overcast.

The luncheon was salad, fish, rice, cold cuts, and cookies for dessert.

We had 28 Rotarians and one visiting Rotarian.  Our visiting Rotarian was Burlington Rotarian and ADG Ray Graber.  The meeting was called to order by Pres. Jim.  After the Pledge of Allegiance by PP John O’Donnell, one verse of “America” led by Charlie Vale (we were on key, I think), and the invocation by PDG Jack Maloney, we moved on to raffle gifts.  Raffle donations were made by Ray Ciccolo, Lexington Rotary Club, Eagle Bank, Law Offices of Marian P. Abraham, and Patriot Bank.  50/50 Raffle winner was Don Mahoney for $85.00.

Fines and Happy Dollars:

PP Dave Eagle gave out the first fine to Pres. Jim.  Pres. Jim had called out to PP Dan Olsen for being busy at the lunch table – Pres. Jim did not realize PP Dan was working on Comedy night activities.  Pay up Pres. Jim.

PP Spencer Betts gave happy dollars for his mom’s 75th birthday.

Julie Powers gave happy dollars for her great vacay in Playa Carmen AND she attended a rotary meeting while on vacation.

PP Doug gave happy dollars for Julie who did an out-of–country meeting.

Allan Azoff gave happy dollars for his vacation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and he also went to a rotary meeting while on vacation.

Don Mahoney gave happy dollars as he has just returned from his vacation in Florida and he fined himself as he hadn’t been to the Rotary meetings in a while.

PP Dan Busa gave happy dollars for a weekend event at Busa Wine and Spirits in Burlington.  The esteemed Howie Carr was the featured guest at the event.
