On a clear cool day, 31 Lexington Rotarians and one guest met for a lunch of pasta, salad & cold-cuts. (For an Irish Pub, they sure serve us a boat load of pasta week in and week out).  Acting President David rang in the meeting with the pledge lead by Antonios, first verse of America by P.P. Doug and the blessing by P.D.G. Jack.  After introducing the guest, and the others at tables without one paid fines, Charlie attempted to get all the members to harmonize the welcome song.

Happy dollars flowed.  Dominic for Patriot's Day, P.P. Jim for the club helping feed 110 military at Brookhaven, Both P.P. Dan & P.P. Dave for the easy setup & breakdown Patriot's Day, Steve M. for a first communion, and President Jim, for coming in late and taking over the meeting.

A few announcements; Vynebrooke Village garden project will be May 10 9:00-1:00.  There are still tickets available for comedy night; if you are putting an ad into the program P.P. Bob S needs it by May 7th, and thank you from the Acting President & President for all the Patriots Day help.

Raffle gifts were donated by Arlex Oil, Walpole Co-operative, Lexington Periodontics, Eagle Bank, Doug Holmes, Patriot Bank and the Rotary Club.

ImageOur guest speaker was Rob Addelson, Finance Director for the town of Lexington.  Prior to having spent the last 8 years in Lexington, he was in Arlington, Framingham & ImageNeedham.  Rob went on to talk about his duties here in town, the bidding processes for items and projects, budget procedures and the retirement system that he also sits on the board for as an appointed position by the town.   HE also touched on some of the capital fund projects for the future of Lexington.  Some of these were police & fire station replacements, Hartwell Ave repairs, new Hastings School, and design plans for the new community center & visitor's center.

The 50/50 was won by P.D.G. Jack for $80.00, which he promptly donated back to the club.

P.P. Bob O'K.
