On a beautiful sunny Monday, 21 Rotarians, one guest, our speaker, broke bread over Chicken ala kaka, salad, and weekend old deli slices from Cannalonga Farms, hey, you have to hand it to PP Nick, shrewd business man!!!

Our Pledge of Allegiance was led by PP Ed, 1st verse of America by Josh Brogan wanabee, Charlie Vail, Invocation by clergyman in training, Incoming President David Siekman, will someone please tell him that in order to conclude a prayer the word “AMEN” needs to be invoked and the Welcome song to be led by PP Dan. Speaking of the Welcome song, PP Dan weaseled out of instituting a fine on President Jim for forgetting this rendition two weeks in a row, however discussion turned into PP John paying $22 , how does that always happen?, if President Jim would solo the Welcome song. He did, and you know what we all said…….keep your day job, although later in the meeting his grammar was, “more better” so maybe a change in careers is in order.

President Jim thanked all who attended the Social at Busa Wine & Spirits “lower level” location; PP Dan surely knows how to treat a crowd.

Raffle gifts were provided by the best community Bank in the area, Patriot Community Bank, The Lexington Rotary Club, Eagle Bank, Arlex Oil and Walpole Co-operative Bank. Speaking of Arlex Oil, anyone see PDG Jack, we all know the groundhog story, you know, it sees it shadow or doesn’t, blah, blah, blah, well PDG Jack is the same way, when the temperature hits 70, therefore no oil pumping, he hibernates until the snow flies, see you in November!!

Happy dollars and fines were plentiful with 1st VPDavid paying happy dollars for a kindergarten graduation and his sons 4th birthday, Treasurer Donna for her son graduating from 8th grade, all the credit to Pat, PP Bob O’K. for his mother in laws 90th birthday, those are some serious genes, PP Doug for something about Lexington and community budget per person, the word budget in Lexington translates into increased taxes. PP Bob S. fined himself for not introducing Bix Shoemaker as a Past President last week, hey PP Bob, if you add his age and yours, it’s almost two centuries, all is forgiven.

The clear winner in open mouth, insert foot was President Jim. He paid happy dollars for 26 years of marriage although with a caveat, are you ready for this Laurie………..only 15 years were blissful. I just spoke with Laurie and she stated he is exaggerating, only 5 years were blissful. You can’t make this stuff up.

ImageOur guest speaker was Victoria Nessen Kohlasch, founder of NK&A, a marketing guru with 22 years of experience with such companies as Reebok, Clarks and CRIC Capital, to name a few. Victoria spoke mostly about social media and how this new phenom is affecting our businesses. Key points, Branding extremely important, make it about the customer, be consistent, hire the right person, someone 21 years old does not have the experiences of say PP Dave, thank God, and lastly know your audience. She was energetic, paid a few happy dollars,  Imageshe’s a keeper

Respectfully submitted, absolution granted, your scribe PP John

Bill Cassell, where are you?????
