With barely 3 tables populated the Rotary Club of Lexington held its Monday meeting under stormy thundercloud laden skies. It was quite obvious that some of the stellar singers were missing when we attempted to sing a verse of “America”. Thankfully there were no guests or birthdays.

Happy dollars took no summer holiday though- Julie paid for a ridiculous 1700 mi drive to Newfoundland, (You can drive there?), PP Dan B for a birthday visit with daughter Haley, Bob O for a new retail shop. (We knew someone from the club was going to get in on this marijuana thing), PP Murray for a vacation trip out west- he always brings a good story from his trips and finally Steve M for 13 years of marriage- good job Steve!!!

ImagePP Murry gave his classification talk with a well-rounded explanation of how his family emigrated from Russia, to France and wound up in Malden. After high school he Imageattended U of Penn and received his Doctor training with practical work in a Philadelphia Hospital, then on to BU grad school for partying and dentistry.

Now he’s a very accomplished periodontal dentist with a long practice in Lexington center called Lexington Periodontics and Implantology. He says the two secrets to success are – “treating patients with kindness” and being in cahoots with regular dentists like PP Dan O. (Well we all knew that- they’ve been sitting together for 30 years every Monday at Rotary).

PP Dan O was a bit confused as he began HIS classification talk in the middle of Murray’s. But the club brought that to a quick halt.

Nice job Murray- you are always an articulate and gracious speaker.
