On a beautiful August day, with a hint of Fall in the air, twenty-three Rotarians gathered at Waxy O'Connor's for a delicious meal of steak tips, chicken casserole, green beans.  The restaurant staff excelled in serving this fine gathering.  Unfortunately, there were no guests or visiting Rotarians to join us for lunch.

PP Spencer B. led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by PP Dan O. leading the group in a verse of America.  PP Don S. explained that he had forgotten his Rotarian prayer book and would have to use one of his standards for the invocation.

Happy Dollars( $10 ) were paid by Bob C. for have a good time at the Patriots game with his wife, Toni.  Fines were paid by Steve M.( $10 ) re:Golf Tournament, Julie P.( $5 ) re:Childrens road race and Pres. Dave ( $10 ) re:Lex-Bedford softball game.  PP Bill C. ( $65 ).

Pres. Dave gave a running commentary on the recent softball game between the Lexington and Bedford Rotary Clubs.  Lexington was ahead by 3 runs, then behind by 6 runs, all at the beginning of the game.  Our star player was Meaghan M. whose clutch hit won the game. Congratulations, Meaghan!

Pres. Dave shared with us a thank you letter from the Veterans of Foreign Wars for participating in the Labor Day dinner with them.

PP Jim S. asked everyone to sign-up for 1 of 3 locations at the annual Lex-Hab BBQ event.  The dates are Sept. 23, 24 & 25.
