On a beautiful cool April day, the Lexington and Concord Rotary Clubs met in Concord at the Colonial Inn.

The meeting was called to order by Concord President June Grace who introduced Lexington President David Sears.

All sang God Bless America. Thomas J. Hudner, Jr. led the Pledge of Allegiance and Rev. Dr. John Lombard offered the Invocation.

A wonderful lunch was served and after lunch the meeting continued. Concord Past President Dick Hale presented PDG Jack Maloney with a Distinguished Service Award for everything that PDG Jack has done for the town of ImageConcord over the years.  There was a standing ovation from the audience.

ImageA beautiful new handmade gavel and walnut case was accepted on behalf of the club by President David Sears from the Concord Club in honor of Lexington’s 300th Anniversary.

Concord Rotarian Sharon Spaulding introduced the speaker, Nancy Nelson, Superintendent of the Minuteman National Historical Park.  Nancy provided us a lot of valuable information about this treasured park in our back yard.  She invited everyone to visit the park and to enjoy the beauty of the park.  She talked about the number of visitors and how the park is maintained.  She answered many questions from the audience.

The meeting ended at 1:30pm at which time several members were greeted with parking tickets when they returned to their cars.
