Tasmanian Devil Briefly Visits Lexington Rotary

On a sunny, hot and humid August day, 12 Lexington Rotarians (that's right 12) and 2 guests, (both of whom are interested in joining Rotary), enjoyed each others company while noshing on a menu of Caesar salad, assorted cold cuts and breads, a hot offering of lightly breaded lemon chicken with rice, hot and cold beverages all followed up with chocolate cookies.

President Domenic assigned the Pledge of Allegiance to VP Lori M, 1st verse of America by Andrew B and invocation by PP Don M. PP Dan O led us in a rousing rendition of the Welcome song.

Raffle gifts were donated by Walpole Cooperative Bank, Brookhaven, Peoples United Bank and PP Bill Cassell.

Happy Dollars were contributed by Pres. Dom for his wonderful visit to an Italians Only Auto Show (what's wrong with Ford?), PP Dan B for not having to "lock them up" coming home from the Cape this morning, PP Jim S because he got his dingy to start in ME, (must be a big tub) and PP Bill C for visitor Ryan M's delving questions, sure to challenge a third grader, prior to our meeting.

Fines were imposed by PP Jim S on out able for usurping the 2 guests which this scribe quickly paid for since nice people are attracted to nice people, enough said. Pres. Dom fined two committe chairmen for not handing in their committee reports; PP Jim S, (he's a popular guy) and Andrew B.

Being summer with no speakers scheduled and not enough members left for a classification talk, Pres. Dom adeptly asked our two visitors if they would like to tell the club about themselves. First up was;
  1. Farah Richard - Farah currently resides in Lexington with her son who will be attending LHS in the fall. Farah was born in Turkey, spent many years in Berlin, DE, then to Charlotte, SC and now Lexington. Her areas of expertise are in education, linguistics and paralegal studies.
  2. Ryan McEniff - Ryan is the owner of Minute Woman Home Care a 44 year old company currently located at 238 Bedford St in Lexington. Ryan grew up in Concord, MA, graduated from Concord-Carlisle HS and went to college in Colorado (I think). He spent a lot of time in Colorado skiing and snowboarding until his mother's illness brought him home. Before his mother died she urged him to talk to his Aunt who was the owner of Minute Women Home Care and looking at retiring. An avid outdoorsman Ryan also enjoys skeet shooting and spear fishing. (Lexington Res?)
