English Q:  Contented Cash:  Pres. Jim gave some bucks for a day trip to Maine that ended up being an overnight in Kennebunkport.  Charlie V. and PP Murry A. each chipped in for wedding anniversaries.  Match the years married to the members:  Charlie = ___; Murry = ___  (A = 48 years, B = 39 years, C = seems like forever).  PP Dave S. celebrated his daughter’s wedding with some happy dollars, as did Diane P., who is going back to England for a while.

Fines:  PP Murry paid for having a successful marketing and promotion plan for Lexington Periodontics and Implantology that reached PP Dan B.  Was that fine fair?  (Circle one:  Yes    Absolutely    Of course)

Beauty Contest Q: PP Bill C. competed with PP Nick C.’ in “The Best Looking Legs in the Club Contest.  Who won?  (Bill     Nick    a tie   “I couldn’t tell.  I was struck blind when I looked!”)Both of them paid, as did PP Don S. whose cell phone went off during the meeting to announce his indiscretion.

Pres. Jim read a heartfelt thank you note from Marci Lucas.  “Dan loved the whole Rotary experience.”Our thanks to the raffle donors: Patriot Community Bank (balls), Walpole Cooperative Bank, Patriot Bank, Vail Studios, Eagle Bank, Edward Jones (more balls) and Encharter Insurance.

Percentage Q:  PP Dave E. won $70 in the 50/50.  Without using a calculator, estimate how much the Club made on the 50/50?  $ _______  (Treasurer Donna is ineligible to answer this one.)

Club Assembly:  Pres. Jim spoke on the importance of recruiting more members for the Club, the membership of which is about 40.  “Can every one of us find just one good, potential member?”  Jim would also like to see more social events where members can get better acquainted with one another and more interaction with the community.  Fundraising ideas ranged from Street Art Galleries, like in Newburyport, where artists buy sections of street or sidewalk in which to create their works, to Rubber Duck Races and Helicopter-Hole-in-Ones, where golf balls are dropped from a helicopter.  Jim asked, “Who doesn’t like a helicopter?”  (I don’t!)  The idea behind these last two events is that they invite new donors because of the small price of entry. PP Dan B. would like to build a database of information on past donors, so that email or direct mail promotions could be done for future events, as well as for thanking them.  Pres. Jim would like to have a “thank you event” for donors, as well as a quarterly update of what’s going on with the Club.  We currently send the Bulletin to members and “friends,” such as former speakers.

Closing Q: Pres. Jim closed the meetings by saying:  (Circle one)  “Tha..tha…that’s all, folks!”  “See you next week!”
