On a sunny afternoon, 22 Rotarians gathered at Waxy's to attend a short and nice meeting.

The Pledge was led by VP Domenic S, 1st Verse of America by Charlie V, and the Invocation by PP Don S.

Raffle gifts were donated by Walpole Cooperative Bank, People's United Bank, Patriot Bank, Lexington Periodontics, Edward Jones Investments, Encharter Insurance, and Bickling Financial.

PP Ed G gave $20 for a great family vacation; PP Don M gave $5 for the best lobster roll he ever had for less than $10. I am not allowed to say from where he bought it (HINT: PP Nick C gave away a couple dollars to his defense); PP Dan O gave $5 for a bad fishing experience; PE Dave S had $5 for a family vacation in the Cape with the in-laws; Meaghan M gave $10 for vacationing in the Cape as well with her brother who came from Germany; Julie P gave $5 for spending time with family.

Julie P paid a $5 self-imposed fine for reminding the club about Alex's lemonade stand for pediatric cancer. P Jim S was fined $10 for ringing the bell before the 50/50 raffle. I guess it was his lucky day as a couple minutes later he won $60, which he donated back to the club!

We did not have any guest speakers today but P Jim S mentioned that we have some great speakers lined up for September. He also reminded everyone that this is the last chance to buy tickets for the September 4th Red Sox game. So far there are 24 Lexington Rotarians who have signed up for it; P Jim S will also send the Committee assignments by the end of this week; Secy Susan C spoke for a few minutes about the Lexington Food Pantry and she asked anybody who is interested in donating personal items (i.e. shampoo, toothpaste, etc) to contact her.
