On a cool and rainy Monday, 27 Rotarians and two guests met at Waxy’s to attend our weekly luncheon of salad, chicken pot pie, cold cuts and cookies.

Raffle gifts were donated by Peoples United, Patriot, Eagle and Walpole Banks as well as Smiles by Design, Charter Insurance, and Lexington Periodontics.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by PP. Dan O, 1st verse of America by Charlie V, and the Invocation by PDG Jack M.

Lori M and Julia P gave Happy Dollars for the success of Alex’s Lemonade Stand, PP. Dan O for a vacation cruise to Bermuda, PP Spencer B for his 6th Wedding Anniversary, and Sgt at Arms Connie Neville for a new car.

Acting President David S was filling in for Pres. Jim and presented a donation to Crystal Caouette Dolcimascalo of the Methodist Church Preschool.Image

Steve M announced that one of the Club’s top fundraisers, the Raffle, will be starting soon and he anticipates that the drawing will be held on Friday, November 29th.

ImageA classification talk was given by Diane Piper.  Diane is from South Hampton UK where she returns to twice a year.  Her occupation is the analysis of the data collected from clinical trials and the use of probability theory.  When she was laid off in England she decided to come to the United States where she got employment in a start-up biotech company which Shire acquired in 2006.  In 2008 Shire moved to Lexington.

PP Dan O won the $70 in the 50/50 drawing.
