Spring-like weather was in the air as PE Dave S. called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM.

30 Lexington Rotarians, two guest Rotarians and five guests enjoyed a lunch that included salad, chicken & ziti, cold cuts and cookies.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by PSA Charlie V., first Verse of America by new member Andrew B. and the invocation was offered by PP Don S.

Raffle gifts were donated by Lexington Periodontics & Implantology, PP Doug H., Ray Ciccolo and Boston Volvo, Arlex Oil Corp., Busa Wine & Spirits, and Walpole Cooperative Bank.

 

ImageVisiting Rotarian Carl Tinstman from the Boulder Colorado Rotary Club joined our meeting today and traded club banners with PE Dave S. Carl also gave us some updated info on Rotary’s “End Polio Now” program.

 

Fines and/or Happy $$ were started by the lucky winners of the NCAA Bracket contest, PP Bob O’K. (1st)., PP Spencer B. (2nd), PE Dave S. & PP Jim F. (tied for 3rd),  Diane P for her birthday, Bob C. for his daughter entering UNH this fall and PP Dan B. for his Artistry on the Green commercial.

PP Spencer B. spoke about advertising for Comedy Night. Forms and ads for those wishing to advertise in the full color program book must be in by May 7.  Any items to be auctioned must be described to PP Spencer in writing (or email him).  Approximately 250 tickets have already been sold.

  

VP Domenic S. spoke of Patriots' Day. If anyone cannot make it on Monday, April 21, please try to be there on Saturday, April 19. Let Domenic know your schedule. PP Jim F. said the Old Guard will be arriving that Saturday at Brookhaven at 2:00 PM and we will be serving them lunch at 2:30 PM. Please be there by 2:00 PM and wear your Rotary shirts to that event.

Our program today was presented by Nancy Simpson-Banker and her associates representing The Children’s Room, the leading independent, non-profit Imageorganization in Massachusetts dedicated to creating safe, supportive communities so that no child, teen or family has to grieve alone. The 50/50 raffle was won by PE Dave S. The meeting was then adjourned by PE Dave S. who was off to spend his new found under the radar funds before this newsletter gets published.
