2019 Holiday Luncheon

On a cold and cloudy Monday, Santa landed his sled on the first tee of the Lexington Golf Club. We are so lucky he finds the time to come to visit us every year during this busy season. He was generous enough to collect donations for the MSPCA, an organization that works to help the lives of animals and create laws for their protection.

Patty cooked us a fabulous holiday meal of delicious beef, mashed potatoes, Italian meatballs, green beans and Cesar salad for 21 hungry Rotarians and 31 guests. Santa’s favorite helper, PP Bob Sacco led us in the Pledge, PP Don Martini led us in the first verse of America, and PP Bob Cunningham led us in the saying of Grace.

There were many happy dollars flowing around the party.
  • PP Dan Busa was understandably overjoyed to have his adorable first grandson Charles Daniel, his son, Andrew, and daughter in-law, Marybeth, and wife Jody joining us.
  • Yanira and her husband adopted 2 Tiger kitties named Lila and Lola.
  • PP Bob O’Keefe had happy dollars for another wedding anniversary with his beautiful wife Karen.

Some nice raffle gifts were provided by;
  • Jack Maloney and Arlex Oil
  • John O'Donnell and Patriot Bank
  • Veronica Caira and Enterprise Bank
  • Yanira Burgos and Youville Place
  • PP Spencer and Bickling Financial
  • Assistant District Gov. Amy Lucky
  • Ray Cicolo

Sonya Sicari was thrilled to win the 50/50 raffle for $80 which of course will be spent on gifts for PP Domenic.

The group was blessed to again have a Christmas performance from the Madrigal Singers from Lexington High School. They are a premier honors chorus who are known as one of the best in New England. They put a new twist on traditional Christmas carols and were just we needed to kick of the season and get into the holiday spirit.

Thank you all for another fabulous year with the Rotary Club. I know we all feel very grateful for the community and support of this group. Best wishes to President Dan and his wife, Barbara, who couldn’t be present at the party and hoping their health improves soon.

We have two weeks with no meeting and the next meeting will be January 6th wich will include a Board Meeting at 11:00 AM.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year, Meaghan Murphy
